2-D 9/7 Basis Functions
The 2-D 9/7 biorthogonal system used in our project comes from the 1-D
prototypes by simple extension of the 1-D filters into 2-D using a seprable
consturction. The Figure below shows the 1-D basis functions for the 9/7
system which were obtained by factorization of the max-flat (Daubechies)
polynomial.
The Figures below show the 2-D Analysis and Synthesis Basis Functions
for the 9/7 system. Note how using separable filters gives symmetry in
horizontal & vertical directions only.
